Monarch of Egypt, the first runner, winner and 'TDN Rising Star' for American Pharoah when victorious at Naas on Apr. 13, will likely be given an entry at Royal Ascot but could bypass that meeting and instead target the G2 Railway S. at The Curragh on the Irish Derby undercard the following weekend.
“I might enter him in the [Listed] Chesham, but I'd say he won't make it and I think he might end up going to The Curragh for the Railway,” trainer Aidan O'Brien said.
A $750,000 Keeneland September yearling, Monarch of Egypt is campaigned by Peter Brant and the Coolmore partners. Monarch of Egypt is out of Up (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), a dual group winner and runner-up in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches.
