Bloodstock South Africa's two-day National 2-year-old sale closed on Friday, with a pair of colts by proven sires Dynasty (SAf) and Trippi each fetching the session-topping price of R600,000 (£35,443/€38,796). The Trippi colt (lot 295) was bought by Form Bloodstock, and is a half-brother to dual group winner Solid Speed (SAf) (Dynasty), while the Dynasty colt (lot 473), was bought by Crabbia Ala. Both were consigned by Klipdrif Stud.
Silvano (Ger) had been responsible for three of the top five lots on day one and he had two of the top five on day two, a R550,000 colt bought by trainer Dennis Drier and a R450,000 colt picked up by Titanium Racing. A total of 321 juveniles were sold over the two days at a buyback rate of 27%. The average was down 32% to R82,212-More than 200 more horses were catalogued than last year–while the median fell 38.5% to R40,000.
