The following rulings were reported on HISA's “rulings” portal and through the Horseracing Integrity and Welfare Unit's (HIWU) “pending” and “resolved” cases portals.

Resolved ADMC Violations

Date: 01/16/2025

Licensee: Eduardo Maver Jr., trainer

Penalty: 30-day period of Ineligibility for Covered Person, beginning on January 17, 2025; Disqualification of Covered Horse's Race results, including forfeiture of all purses and other compensation, prizes, trophies, points, and rankings and repayment or surrender (as applicable); a fine of $2,500; imposition of 3 Penalty Points. Admission.

Explainer: Medication violation for the presence of Valerenic Acid–a controlled substance–in a sample taken from Party News, who finished second at Finger Lakes on 9/25/24.

Pending ADMC Violations

01/22/2025, Monti Sims, trainer: Pending vets' list medication violations for the presence of Acepromazine–all controlled substances (Class B)–in samples taken from Saint Allen and No Moe Foes on 12/13/24.

01/17/2025, Samuel Calvario, trainer: Pending medication violation for the presence of Triamcinolone–all controlled substances (Class C)–in a sample taken from Triple Slipper, who won at Pleasanton on 12/13/24.

01/17/2025, Martin Orona Sr., trainer: Pending medication violation for the presence of Dexamethasone, Methocarbamol and Phenylbutazone–all controlled substances (Class C)–in a sample taken from Sierra Summer, who finished sixth at Zia Park on 12/10/24.

Mahoning Valley

Erik Alberto Barbaran–violation date Jan 16; One-day suspension, $250 fine

Fernando Jara –violation date Jan 17; $250 fine, no other details
