Nereid (Rock Hard Ten–Dowry, by Belong to Me) provided some early fireworks at Keeneland January Monday as she brought a winning bid of $1.3 million from Lane Seliger of Baumann Stables. Trained by John Shireffs for Eric Kronfeld, the 5-year-old mare dead-heated for the win in the 2011 GI American Oaks and was most recently second in the GI Rodeo Drive S. in September. She was consigned to the sale by Winter Quarter Farm, Agent II.
