Ballylinch Stud have announced their sponsorship of the 1000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown next weekend Apr. 8. Previous editions of the G3 Ballylinch Stud 1000 Guineas Trial S. have thrown up Classic winners such as Virginia Waters (Kingmambo) and Homecoming Queen (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}) while 2016 winner Jet Setting (Ire) (Fast Company {Ire}) also used the race as a springboard to Classic success when she claimed the mighty scalp of Minding (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the G1 Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas at The Curragh. Commenting on the stud's strengthened association with Leopardstown managing director John O'Connor said, “The 1000 Guineas Trial is a race that has time and time again produced top class race fillies and broodmares. Last year the card produced a Guineas and a dual Derby winner, while the 1000 Guineas Trial itself produced its 5th 1000 Guineas winner. We also see it as a natural progression from the 2-year old fillies maiden that we sponsor at Leopardstown on Champions Weekend which, since our association with the race, has produced some outstanding performers such as Diamondsandrubies (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) and Bocca Baciata (Ire) (Big Bad Bob {Ire}).”
