New Vocations' Breeders' Cup Pledge Raises Over $120,000

New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program estimates that the funds raised during its 15th annual Breeders' Cup pledge will exceed $120,000. Seven horses drove this year's total with their victories on Breeders' Cup Friday and Saturday, including winners Henri Matisse (Ire), Lake Victoria, Chasing Liberty, Moira, Sierra Leone, Citizen Bull and Thorpedo Anna. Johannes, Mullikin, Fierceness, Candied and Nitrogen also contributed by virtue of their placed efforts over the weekend.

“SF is proud to continue our support of New Vocations, ” shared Gavin Murphy of SF Bloodstock, part-owners of Juvenile winner Citizen Bull. “We care greatly for the horses that race under our care. Their racing careers represent only a short moment in time for what we hope will be long and productive lives, and New Vocations does a wonderful job in preparing them for their next careers.”

This year's winning connections include Coolmore and Partners, Judy Hicks, Robert Masterson, Tom and Katie Ryan, SF Racing, Starlight Racing, Stonestreet Stables, Twin Creeks Racing, Waves Edge Capital LLC, and White Birch Farm, Inc.

“We are very grateful for the overwhelming support from the owners and trainers who joined the Pledge this year,” said Anna Ford, New Vocations Program Thoroughbred Program Director. “With an amazing 77 horses with connections pledging this year, the campaign raises awareness and much-needed funds to continue our mission and grow our aftercare efforts.”
