Arqana will harness the success of its wildcard system, already in place at many of its major sales, and launch a 100% wildcard sale of flat and National Hunt horses-in-training to coincide with its breeze-up sale in Deauville May 14. The wildcard sale will be offered as a separate catalogue. Entries for the wildcard sale will be taken until May 4, and horses declared in a group races the weekend after the sale–which includes the two French Guineas'–will be permitted to run in their new owners' colours.
“We are very excited at the prospect of this new sale, based on a scheme that has been fervently endorsed by vendors for its capacity to enhance the value of smart performers, whether on the flat or over jumps,” said Arqana Chairman Eric Hoyeau. “The
100% Wild Card Sale will act as an outstanding showcase for horses in training with the potential to compete at a high level, in Europe or further afield. And the combination of a top-class weekend of racing in Deauville with two quality sales will undoubtedly attract a large cross-section of international buyers.”
