New Zealand Oaks Treasure

Tony Pike's Treasure (NZ) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) was impressive two starts back in the Listed Oaks Prelude (1800m) at New Plymouth before nothing went to plan next time out in the G3 Lowland S. (2100m), where she finished down the track, but her ability is evident and Saturday's G1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m) appears to be well within her capabilities.

Successful at her last two starts highlighted by an impressive performance in the G3 Sunline Vase (2100m), the Team Rogerson-trained Contessa Vanessa (NZ) (Bullbars {Aus}) has the form on the board, but the concern is barrier 16 of 18 especially as the filly has raced handy at her past few starts.

The Michael and Matthew Pittman-trained Savvy Coup (NZ) (Savabeel {Aus}) is nothing but consistent and after her dominant last-start victory in the Lowland, the well-bred filly is surely capable of taking the prize. Third behind Savvy Coup in the Lowland, the China Horse Club-raced Caricature (Aus) (Power {GB}) doesn't really have a pedigree that screams 2400m Oaks winner, but the form of the Tony Pike-trained filly clearly highlights that she has a leading chance.

Splitting Savvy Coup and Caricature last start was the Graham Richardson and Gavin Parker-trained Gold Spice (NZ) (Rock 'N' Pop {Aus}), who heads into the Oaks at just her fifth start, looking to give her Waikato Stud-based sire his first stakes winner.
