A qualifier for the National Horseplayers Championship will be held in New Zealand for the first time, the NTRA announced Tuesday. The contest will be held at Addington Raceway Nov. 17 as part of Show Day, a highlight of the Canterbury region's social calender. The winner will earn an automatic berth to the 19th NHC, to be held Feb. 8-11, 2018 in Las Vegas, as well as airfare and four nights at the Treasure Island hotel.
New Zealand will become the third country outside the United States to host an NHC qualifier, joining Canada and Peru.
