No Nay Never's Mission Central On Top In The Round Tower

Off the mark by eight lengths over six furlongs at The Curragh earlier this month, Ballydoyle's Mission Central (No Nay Never) came back to the same course and distance to collect Saturday's G3 Heider Family Stables Round Tower Stakes. Always in control on the front end under Wayne Lordan, the 11-8 favourite kept finding to score by 3/4 of a length from The Publican's Son (Beau Liam).

“Wayne said he was still green. He said he was there at halfway and he was waiting,” Aidan O'Brien said. “He said he has a lot of natural speed. He learned a bit today, he had to get down and knuckle down. I'd say he's quick, five would be no problem to him and that's slow ground.”

“Wayne said he felt he was only hacking and the lads in the race felt they were flying, that's the sign of a speed horse,” he added. “I suppose he could be a Flying Childers type of horse, he's very fast and I'd imagine that's the type of horse he is.”

Pedigree Notes

Mission Central is the first foal out of the unraced Thar She Blows (Zoffany), with the second being a colt foal by Kingman. The dam is a full-sister to the Falmouth heroine and 1,000 Guineas runner-up Prosperous Voyage, while the family features the United Nations Handicap and Clement L. Hirsch Memorial Turf Championship Stakes hero Senure (Nureyev), the champion and sire Xaar and Almanzor's G1 Sydney Cup hero Circle Of Fire.
