PEARL WEDDING (f, 2, Tapit&log=">Tapit–Above Heaven, by Mr. Greeley) is the most recent foal from her unraced dam, a daughter of GISW Lady Joanne (Orientate), who was purchased by Masatake Iida for $320K in foal to Forestry at KEENOV in 2013. That produce, Satono Green, broke his maiden at Tokyo this past June (video, gate 6). Iida offered Above Heaven carrying this foal in utero at FTKNOV in 2014, but took the mare home when bidding stalled out at $575K. Pearl Wedding was RNAd for $380K at KEESEP last fall. No fewer than four U.S.-breds are set to face the starter for this race, including the consistent ZENNO SURVEYOR (c, 4, Mineshaft–Eden's Causeway, by Giant's Causeway). Racing as a homebred for Kumiko Osako, the chestnut has won three of his 12 trips to the post, including a victory over course and distance back in January (video, gate 15) and makes his first start since May. Zenno Surveyor, who has nine top-three efforts, is a half-brother to former 'TDN Rising Star' and GISW Eden's Moon (Malibu Moon) as well as Coofa Diva (GB) (Frankel {GB}), a maiden winner on dirt at Kokura Aug. 26 (video, gate 8).
