Here are the horses of interest for this weekend running at Tokyo and Kyoto Racecourses, including the stakes debut of impressive last-out maiden winner Mozu Aunt Mo (Uncle Mo):

AMERICAN BABY (JPN) (c, 2, Bernardini–Nile Queen, by Pioneerof the Nile) was purchased in utero for $525K at the 2016 Keeneland November Sale and is out of a winning half-sister to Exaggerator (Curlin), a three-time Grade I winner earlier that year, including the GI Preakness S. A Feb. 27 foal, American Baby was re-offered at the 2017 JRHA Select Foal Sale and fetched a final bid of ¥29 million ($254,330). The colt's MSP third dam Embur Sunshine (Bold Ruckus) produced Sovereign Award winner & MGSW Embur's Song (Unbridled's Song). Nile Queen is the dam of a yearling colt by King Kamehameha (Jpn). HARRY BAROWS (c, 2, Uncle Mo–Isobel Baillie {GB}, by Lomitas {GB}) is a half-brother to MGSW Isabella Sings (Eskendereya), MSW & GSP Alaura Michelle (Arch) and SW Tobacco Road (Quality Road) and was a $275K KEESEP buyback before hammering for $425K as an OBS April juvenile (:21 4/5). A May 6 produce, Harry Barows hails from the immediate family of the talented Japanese distaff sprinter White Fugue (Jpn) (Kurofune), Singspiel (Ire) (In the Wings {GB}) and MG1SW Campanologist (Kingmambo). 7th-KYO, ¥13,400,000 ($124k), Newcomers, 2yo, 2000mT
BENITOITE (JPN) (c, 2, Medaglia d'Oro–Wild Wind {Ger}, by Danehill Dancer {Ire}) is the latest produce for his dam, third home in the 2011 G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches and a SW & MGSP in Ireland during her racing days. Already the dam of German stakes winner Wild Bud (Dubawi {Ire}), Wild Wind was acquired with this foal in utero for $750K at KEENOV in 2016. Benitoite was sold on for ¥68 million ($596,360) as a JRHA Select Foal in July 2017. This is also the female family of Kingmambo (Mr. Prospector), champion Rumplestiltskin (Ire) (Danehill), G1 Dubai Turf hero Real Steel (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) and this year's G1 Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks) winner Loves Only You (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}). MOZU AUNT MO (f, 2, Uncle Mo–A Footsep Away, by Giant's Causeway), a debut second at Hanshin in September, broke her maiden convincingly over course and distance when last seen Oct. 13 (see below, gate 6). A half-sister to SW Two Thirty Five (Stay Thirsty), the $200K KEESEP yearling is out of a daughter of Grade II-winning juvenile At the Half (Seeking the Gold), the dam of MGSW & MGISP Lu Ravi (A.P. Indy); and of Half Queen (Deputy Minister), whose daughter Halfbridled (Unbridled) won the 2003 GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. B-Springhill Farm (KY)
