6th-KYO, ¥11,400,000 (US$100k), Newcomers, 3yo, 1600mT
Winchester Farm-bred SOUTH SCHNELL (Scat Daddy) gets his career started in this newcomers' test on the turf. The April foal is a son of South Humor (Distorted Humor), a half-sister to GI Belmont S. upsetter Da' Tara (Tiznow), who posted three wins from 21 starts in Japan before being repatriated. This is the further female family of GISW Private Persuasion (Pirate's Bounty).

7th-TOK, ¥13,720,000 (US$120k), Allowance, 3yo, 1600m
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum's BASKERVILLE (Bernardini), a $375k Keeneland September graduate, was a close runner-up on his course-and-distance debut Oct. 23 before rolling home to a facile success in a 1600m maiden when last seen Nov. 13. Baskerville's stakes-placed dam Divalarious (Distorted Humor) is a daughter of 1997 Broodmare of the Year Alidiva (Ire) (Chief Singer {Ire}), whose produce include champions Taipan (Ire), Ali-Royal (Ire) and Sleepytime (Ire) as well as MGSP Oonagh Maccool (Giant's Causeway). Further down the page is (It's) Somewhat (Dynaformer), a top-level performer for Godolphin both in Europe and in Australia. Divalarious was recently purchased by Peter Brant's White Birch Farm for $380,000 in foal to American Pharoah at this year's Keeneland January sale.

4th-KYO, ¥11,400,000 ($100k), Newcomers, 3yo, 1200m
TEN MOHS (Speightstown), a half-brother to GISW Lochte (Medaglia d'Oro), fetched a final bid of $230k from Koji Maeda's North Hills at the 2015 Keeneland September sale. The bay filly is a daughter of the SW Lemon Kiss (Lemon Drop Kid), a full-sister to MGSW Kiss the Kid, who was purchased by the Courtelis's Town & Country Farm for $1.325 million in foal to Distorted Humor at the 2014 Fasig-Tipton November sale. That produce, a colt, was knocked down to Grupo 7C for $350,000 at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga last summer.
