Emerging as a miling force this term with an authoritative win in the G3 Prix Edmond Blanc at this venue Apr. 2, Godolphin's acquisition Jimmy Two Times returned to justify that purchase and favouritism and book his ticket to Royal Ascot. Second to the eventual G1 Commonwealth Cup and G1 Haydock Sprint Cup heroine Quiet Reflection (GB) (Showcasing {GB}) in the six-furlong G3 Prix Sigy at Chantilly last April, the grey had run 10th in Deauville's G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains the following month before reverting to sprinting. Staying at Deauville to take the Listed Prix Marchand d'Or over 6 1/2 furlongs in June and seven-furlong G3 Prix de la Porte Maillot in July, he was third in the 6 1/2-furlong G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest in August before finishing fourth to Limato (Ire) (Tagula {Ire}) in the G1 Prix de la Foret also at seven at Chantilly in October.
Settled in fourth early by regular rider Vincent Cheminaud, Jimmy Two Times was stoked up on the home turn and when the coal was lit was asked to hold on for his final surge. Finally let go with just over a furlong remaining, he quickly had the call and stayed on strongly enough to put himself out of reach of the closer Kourkan, with the winner's top-class stablemate Usherette ending up on the premises on her return. “We are obviously delighted that we bought the horse and he quickened well to confirm the form of his last race,” Godolphin's Lisa-Jane Graffard commented. “Mr Fabre already had a plan when he was purchased and that was to wait for Royal Ascot and the [June 20 G1] Queen Anne S. We are also delighted with Usherette, who ran a good race on her first run back and the aim is to try and win a group 1 with her this season.” The dam Steel Woman, a daughter of the G3 Deutscher Herold-Preis winner Saperlipoupette from the family of the GI Ramona H. third Envie de Rire (Fr) (Trepan {Fr}) and sire Solido (Fr), also has an as-yet unraced 3-year-old colt by Poliglote (GB) and a 2-year-old filly by Authorized (Ire).
