Paul Reddam's champion and GI Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist (Uncle Mo) will be forced to miss next Saturday's GI Breeders' Cup Classic after exiting his Oct. 27 breeze with fill in his ankle.
“Though Nyquist is 100% sound and X-rays are clean, the timing unfortunately precludes us from the dream of having him run in the Breeders' Cup Classic in our own backyard,” said a statement on trainer Doug O'Neill's Facebook page.
Further plans for the 2015 champion juvenile, who was most recently sixth in the GII Pennsylvania Derby, have not yet been announced. Darley acquired Nyquist's breeding rights last November.
