Nyquist Walks Shedrow, To Return To Track Saturday

Nyquist | Adam Coglianese

Undefeated champion Nyquist (Uncle Mo)missed his second consecutive day of training Friday, walking the shedrow but not going out to the track. He is slated to return to training Saturday morning. Reddam Racing's star colt stayed in the barn Thursday with a slightly elevated white blood cell count.

“We just wanted to give him one more day,” said Jack Sisterson, assistant to trainer Doug O'Neill. “He is fine and happy. He was dragging his hot walker around the shedrow this morning.”

Nyquist arrived at Keeneland Sunday, one day after his dominant victory in the GI Xpressbet.com Florida Derby ran his lifetime record to 7-for-7. He will be based at the Lexington track up until his projected start in the May 7 GI Kentucky Derby.
