Champion juvenile Nyquist (Uncle Mo) worked five panels in 1:00.80 at Santa Anita Sunday, a day after being named Champion 2-Year-Old Colt. “The work was as good as Doug [O'Neill] likes to have it,” said O'Neill assistant Leandro Mora. “He went out [six furlongs] in [one] 14 and galloped out [seven furlongs] in 1:28. It was very good.” The undefeated colt, who most recently annexed the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile, is being pointed towards the GII San Vicente S. Feb. 15. GI Los Alamitos Futurity winner Mor Spirit (Eskendereya) also worked Sunday at Santa Anita. With jockey Gary Stevens in the irons, he covered five furlongs in 1:01 in preparation for a start in the GIII Robert B. Lewis S. Feb. 6. “It was a good work,” said Jim Barnes, assistant to trainer Bob Baffert. “Gary loved it.”
