The New York Racing Association issued a press release Friday morning that it has notified its 1,400-plus employees of an impending closure. In the statement, NYRA officials said, while they are exploring all options that would allow the tracks to remain open, they were required by law to let employees know that, if a solution to the ongoing financial crisis is not found, they will be forced to shut down Wednesday, June 9.
