Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Today's Observations features the debut of a sibling to recent G1 St James's Palace S. winner Barney Roy.

Fifth on debut in the six-furlong maiden in which Churchill (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) had been third 12 months earlier, the half-brother to the G1 Gran Criterium winner Nayarra (Ire) (Cape Cross {Ire}) from the family of Invincible Spirit (Ire) is joined by Amedeo Modigliani (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), the 750,000gns TATOCT grandson of G2 Nassau S. and G2 Sun Chariot S. winner Last Second (Ire) (Alzao). They will have to improve to contend with Gaelic Thoroughbreds's Would Be King (Ire) (Lethal Force {Ire}), the Ger Lyons-trained colt who was second to Brother Bear (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) in the Listed Marble Hill S. over six here in May.

2.35 Saint-Cloud, Mdn, €27,000, unraced 2yo, f, 6fT

Sun Bloodstock's WISDOM MIND (IRE) (Dark Angel {Ire}) is a half-sister to this term's G1 St James's Palace S. hero and G1 2000 Guineas runner-up Barney Roy (GB) (Excelebration {Ire}). The Criquette Head-Maarek trainee faces 10 fellow debutantes in this unveiling.
