Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Today's Observations features a trio of Maktoum-owned bluebloods in a Wetherby maiden.

POWDERHOUSE (IRE) (Raven's Pass) is an already gelded son of the stakes-placed Monday Show (Maria's Mon) and is thus a half to last term's G2 Dahlia S. and G2 Duke of Cambridge S. victress Usherette (Ire) (Shamardal). Godolphin's greenhorn is joined by his once-raced Charlie Appleby stablemate Pilgrim's Treasure (Dubawi {Ire}), who was produced by a full-sister to MG1SW dual Australian champion Miss Finland ({Aus}) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}); and Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum's Alwahsh (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), a William Haggas-conditioned son of 2010 G1 1000 Guineas and G1 Coronation S. placegetter Gile Na Greine (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), who lines up off a short-head second going one mile at Yarmouth on sophomore return last month.
6.20 Windsor, Cond, £10,000, 2yo, 5f 21yT
Godolphin's LAST VOYAGE (Eskendereya), representing Charlie Appleby, enjoys a similar profile to Saturday's Ascot debut scorer Aqabah (Exchange Rate) and, like that stablemate, is a ($90,000) KEESEP and ($335,000) FTFMAR graduate. Initially knocked down for $52,000 as a KEENOV foal, he becomes the first runner out of an unraced daughter of G1 Cape Fillies Guineas winner and South Africa's champion 3-year-old filly Captain's Lover (SAf) (Captain Al {SAf}), and faces seven rivals in this debut.
