Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum's GLORIOSUS (Lonhro {Aus}), a Mark Johnston trainee, is a half-brother to 2006 G1 Prix d'Ispahan and G1 Gran Premio Del Jockey Club-winning sire Laverock (Ire) (Octagonal {NZ}), and opens up in this low-key affair. His six rivals include fellow newcomer Don Valentino (Ire) (Dandy Man {Ire}), who is a gelded son of 1998 Listed Premio Vittorio Crespi victress My Funny Valentine (Ire) (Mukaddamah), from the David O'Meara stable.
