Derrick Smith colourbearer BOULEVARD (IRE) (Galileo {Ire}), an Andre Fabre trainee, is a son of MGSW 2003 GI Flower Bowl Invitational runner-up Walzerkoenigin (Kingmambo) and is thus kin to four pattern-race winners headed by 2009 G1 Deutsches Derby and G1 Rheinland Pokal-winning sire Wiener Walzer (Ger) (Dynaformer). His rivals include Issam Fares's Perfect City (Ire) (Elusive City), who is out of a winning half-sister to this year's GI Kentucky Derby and GI Florida Derby hero Always Dreaming (Bodemeister) and 2009 GI Spinaway S. victress Hot Dixie Chick (Dixie Union), representing the Jean-Claude Rouget stable.

Opposition to the Al Shaqab Racing homebred newcomer includes Gemini Stud's Emma Princess (Fr) (Elusive City), a Yann Barberot-trained half-sister to the stakes-winning 2007 G1 Prix Saint-Alary runner-up Believe Me (Ire) (In the Wings {GB}).
