Octave Retired

MGISW Octave (Unbridledís Song–Belle Nuit, by Dr. Carter) has been retired and will be bred in the spring. The three-year-old filly was purchased for $4 million by Darley at the Fasig-Tipton November sale. Bred by Mr. and Mrs. Martin Wygod, she was acquired by owners Starlight Stable and Don Lucarelli as a $350,000 KEESEP yearling. The gray finished on the board in every one of her 13 career starts, winning the GI CCA Oaks, GI Mother Goose S. and GII Adirondack BC S. Second in the GI Breedersí Cup Juvenile Fillies, GI Kentucky Oaks, GI Ashland S. and GI Matron S., she was most recently third, beaten just a half-length by likely Eclipse winner Ginger Punch, in the GI Breedersí Cup Distaff. Overall, Octave compiled a record of 13-4-7-2 and earnings of $1,660,934. Breeding plans have not been announced.
