Octave Sale Disputed: Ferguson Gets The Nod At $4M

There was a dispute as to who had made the final bid, but it was John Ferguson who signed the ticket at $4 million for MGISW Octave (Unbridled's Song) at Fasig-Tipton November. Representatives of Coolmore believed that their bid at the same price had been recognized, but, after a discussion, it was determined that the three-year-old filly would, indeed, be joining the Sheikh Mohammed stable. The winner of the GII Adirondack Breedersメ Cup S. and runner-up in the GI Breedersメ Cup Juvenile Fillies last year, Octave was second to Rags to Riches in the GI Kentucky Oaks before annexing the GI Mother Goose S. and GI CCA Oaks. She put in a dead-game third-place finish in the GI Breedersメ Cup Distaff last time out and sold as a racing/broodmare prospect.
