Oppenheim: Lifetime Achievement

In the concluding column on APEX ratings, columnist Bill Oppenheim looks at the lifetime achievement of sires based on numbers of 'unique' A runners as a percentage of foals of racing age with a further breakdown by average number of A runners by crop year. A.P. Indy leads by percentage of unique A runners to foals (13.67 percent), while Sadler's Wells is in front by total unique A runners with 241 from his 23 crops of racing age, or 10.48 per crop. Storm Cat is second in each category.
