In this week's column, Bill Oppenheim writes that such discussion has long since been put to rest, and the late Coolmore stallion has become a “Derby Dynasty.” A battle rages as to which of his sire sons holds the upper hand, given that Montjeu has accounted for eight different winners of the G1 Epsom, Irish or French Derbies. Galileo has been represented by a single Epsom Derby hero, but four Guineas winners this spring alone and three European 2-year-old champs from just six crops to race.
