Today’s G1 Total Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp provides the chance for J “TDN Rising Star” J Found (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) to shine following her top-class effort when third in the G1 Moyglare Stud S. Her performance in the Sept. 14 seven-furlong Curragh feature, where the re-opposing Malabar (GB) (Raven’s Pass) was fourth, came after a visually impressive debut win over this trip at that venue Aug. 23, and Michael Tabor’s daughter of the accomplished Red Evie (Ire) (Intikhab) has a distinctly upward profile. Heading the home defence is His Highness The Aga Khan’s Ervedya (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), who took an unbeaten record into the G1 Prix Morny. Despite losing it in Deauville’s Aug. 24 six-furlong highlight, the Aug. 3. G3 Prix de Cabourg scorer emerged with credit when third behind the established colts The Wow Signal (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}) and Hootenanny (Quality Road).
Gerard Byrne’s Jack Naylor (GB) (Champs Elysees {GB}) had three subsequent group winners behind when annexing Leopardstown’s G3 Silver Flash S. over seven furlongs July 24 before defying a penalty when following up in the Listed Flame of Tara S. at The Curragh at the end of August. “I rode her work last week and she’s on track,” jockey Fran Berry told PA Sport. “All her form has stacked up extremely well, everything she has raced against has gone on to frank the form and she is well entitled to be there. The ground looks like being good or better and that will suit her very well. She just does enough, that’s all she does so maybe that’s why she possibly doesn’t get the credit she deserves.”
Another J “TDN Rising Star” J in attendance is the Niarchos Family’s Night of Light (Ire) (Sea the Stars {Ire}), who beat the well-regarded Velannda (Fr) (Sea the Stars {Ire}) over 7 1/2 furlongs on testing ground on debut at Deauville Aug. 8 before running second to Shahah (GB) (Motivator {GB}) in Chantilly’s G3 Prix d’Aumale over this trip last time Sept. 9. Jockey Stephane Pasquier is making no secret of the regard in which he holds the Pascal Bary trainee. “I think she’s a very good filly and she won a good maiden at Deauville–we might have something special in her,” he stated.
