Beaten but unbowed as he tried to defend his crown in the June 22 G1 Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, Order of St George (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) starts the rest of his campaign in Saturday's G3 Comer Group International Irish St Leger Trial S. at The Curragh. Successful in this 12 months ago prior to placing in the Irish St Leger itself and the Arc, the 5-year-old is approaching peak condition. “He had a break and he's ready to run,” Aidan O'Brien said. “He'll improve a bit from it, but I'd be disappointed if he doesn't run a big race. He's well forward to run a big race, because the next one after that is the Irish Leger.”
Having beaten Order of St George in the Irish St Leger in September, Wicklow Brave (GB) (Beat Hollow {GB}) is back to re-oppose having finished second to the 3-year-old Rekindling (GB) (High Chaparral {Ire}) in the G2 Curragh Cup over this course and distance on July 2 and fourth in the Aug. 1 G2 Goodwood Cup.
