O'Shea To Return To Randwick

Trainer John O'Shea, who stepped down from the role of Godolphin's head trainer in Australia after three years in April, will be allocated stables at Randwick, the Australian Turf Club announced in a release. James Cummings, who was named Godolphin's new head trainer last week, will vacate his family's Leilani Lodge Stables at Randwick, although it has not yet been determined who will fill that vacancy.

Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager of Racing Services and Membership, James Heddo, said, “John O'Shea is a proven Group 1 trainer and we believe he will be a strong addition to the training ranks at Royal Randwick. We are also talking with Anthony [James's father] and Edward Cummings to see if it is practical for them to move into Leilani Lodge or remain in their current stables.”

It is expected all movements will be completed by Aug. 1.
