The last winner of the GI Wood Memorial to come back and win the GI Kentucky Derby was Fusaichi Pegasus (Mr. Prospector) in 2000 and most think the slump will continue this year, as Outwork hasn't gotten many people excited. He won the Wood in a dreadfully slow 1:52.92 and beat a maiden in Trojan Nation (Street Cry {Ire}). Despite the time, he got a 1 1/2 on the Thoro-Graph sheets, a number that puts him in the ballpark with a lot of top Derby contenders.
