Two years after his half-brother Calculator (In Summation) fetched $132,000 in the OBS sales pavilion, his younger 2-year-old half-brother from the first crop of Grade II-winning juvenile Overdriven (Tale of the Cat) became the first to sail through the half-million dollar mark at this year's April sale, hammering down for $525,000. Bred and consigned by Ocala Stud, the gray colt was the subject of a protracted and methodical bidding war that saw the tote creep up in $5,000 and sometimes in $10,000 increments. Peter Miller, who signed the winning ticket on and trainsĀ Calculator and who also signed for a Kantharos half-sister here 12 months ago, proved most determined for the colt, who breezed a quarter-mile in :21 flat during his under-tack preview.
