Pair Of Yearlings Top BBAG Opener

A pair of yearlings reached the €30,000 mark to top the opening day of the BBAG Sales and Racing Festival October Sale on Friday. The first to reach that mark was a first-crop daughter of Maxios (Ger) bought by Bill Oppenheim for €30,000. The filly is a half-sister to the Group 1-placed Conillon (Ger) (Acatenango {Ger}), and her dam is a half-sister to G2 Queen Anne S. winner Waajib (Ire) (Try My Best) and listed winner Cote D'Azur (Ire) (Arazi). Also under the first dam is G1 Lockinge S. winner Keltos (Fr) (Kendor {Fr}).

Three lots later, a son of Solider Hollow (GB) reached the co-topping price when hammered down to R Dzubasz. That colt is out of Gonara (Ger) (Big Shuffle), a half-sister to the dam of G1 Champion S. and G1 Lockinge S. winner Farhh (GB) (Pivotal {GB}) and three other stakes winners. Champion stayer Fame and Glory (GB) (Montjeu {Ire}) appears under the second dam.
