Palmer Eyeing Irish Oaks Double

Updated: July 9, 2016 at 6:37 am

Hugo Palmer will be hoping history can repeat itself as he has confirmed his intention to supplement Architecture (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) for next weekend's G1 Darley Irish Oaks at The Curragh. The trainer also supplemented last year's winner Covert Love (Ire) (Azamour {Ire}) for the race and connections will be hoping the €40,000 supplementary fee will be a similarly sound investment. “I've been waiting for her to come to herself since Ascot,” said Palmer. “She has looked better and better as the days have gone past and Frankie came and had a sit on her for the first time since Ascot. He was delighted with the feeling she gave him and the intention between now and Tuesday is to supplement for the Curragh,” confirmed the Newmarket trainer. Architecture disappointed last time at Ascot when she finished eighth behind Even Song (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) in the G2 Ribblesdale S. However her previous second to Minding (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the G1 Epsom Oaks, after which she was purchased by Roy and Gretchen Jackson's Lael Stable,  would make her a leading contender for The Curragh Classic.
