Last year's G1 Ascot Gold Cup winner Trip To Paris (Ire) (Champs Elysees {GB}) heads a strong British representation in Saturday's G1 Qatar Prix du Cadran at Chantilly following the first forfeit stage. Ed Dunlop's much-travelled gelding made a pleasing reappearance after injury over an inadequate 10 furlongs, but has been below par in two subsequent outings at York and The Curragh.
Roger Charlton's Quest For More (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) poses a stern threat to the home team after winning the G2 Lonsdale Cup and going close in the G2 Doncaster Cup at Doncaster Sept. 9.
Sir Mark Prescott's Amour De Nuit (Ire) (Azamour {Ire}), Marcus Tregoning's Burmese (GB) (Sir Percy {GB}) and Seamus Durack's Cayirli (Fr) (Medicean {GB}) could also take on the likes of Vazirabad (Fr) (Manduro {Ger}) and last year's winner Mille Et Mille (GB) (Muhtathir {GB}).
In the G2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein, William Haggas' Mutakayyef (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) holds strong claims along with Charlie Hills' Dutch Connection (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}).
Haggas could also run South African import Yorker (SAf) (Jet Master {SAf}), while Charlie Appleby's Latharnach (Iffraaj {GB}) and the Simon Crisford-trained First Selection (Spa) (Diktat {GB}) are in the mix for a race that could feature Dicton (GB) (Lawman {Fr}) and Ervedya (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), although the last-named is also in the G1 Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot S. at Newmarket.
Ralph Beckett's Air Pilot (GB) (Zamindar), Yorker and Jim Bolger's Qatari Hunter (Ire) (Footstepsinthesand {GB}) are all in the G2 Prix Dollar, with 'TDN Rising Star' Zarak (Fr) (Dubawi {Ire}) still under consideration too.
In the G2 Prix de Royallieu, Dermot Weld's Almela (Ire) (Sea the Stars {Ire}) is the only British or Irish interest with Hughie Morrison's Marmelo (GB) (Duke of Marmalade {Ire}) in the same boat in the G2 Prix Chaudenay.
