Paris On Comeback Trail

Trip To Paris | Racing Post

Ed Dunlop's top stayer Trip To Paris (Ire) (Champs Elysees {GB}) is well on the road to recovery with his trainer penciling in a possible return to the track at Goodwood late July. A revelation last year when he numbered a G1 Ascot Gold Cup among his victories, the 5-year-old ran with distinction in Australia, finishing second in the G1 BMW Caulfield Cup and fourth in the G1 Emirates Melbourne Cup before sustaining a tendon injury in the G1 Japan Cup. “Trip To Paris is back cantering. I am very happy with him”, said Dunlop. “He did two canters up Warren Hill the other day and he looks great. He is still a little bit woolly in his coat due to the climatic circumstances.” Dunlop has an eye on the G2 Qatar Goodwood Cup as a starting point for the La Grange partnership owned gelding and he added, “The Goodwood Cup will be the earliest he will be out and we will try and have him ready for that.”
