Citing the failure to meet the drug testing protocol as set out by the American Graded Stakes Committee and the trustees of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, the 2009 renewals of the GII Pennsylvania Derby, GII Fitz Dixon Cotillion S. and the GIII Presque Isle Downs Masters S. will be recorded as ungraded events. As a precondition for graded stakes races to remain eligible to retain their grade, the AGSC requires that more extensive analytical testing be performed on samples collected from horses participating in graded stakes. The grades for the 2010 have been reinstated providing that the requirements of the committee's protocol are met.
