Persistent Rain

Rain Goddess | Racing Post

Runner-up in the July 2 G1 Pretty Polly S. and July 15 G1 Irish Oaks, Rain Goddess (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) returns to The Curragh on Sunday for the G3 Snow Fairy Fillies S. Only eighth in the Aug. 12 GI Beverly D. S., Susan Magnier's hard-working bay knows the manner of fierce competition and that could be key in this tight affair.

Now that the Sir Michael Stoute stable is in top gear, Cheveley Park Stud's Intimation (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) warrants respect, especially as the last time she was here she inflicted a four-length beating on the useful Rose de Pierre (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) in the Listed Garnet S. over a mile at Naas in October. She is returning from an absence, having finished runner-up in Goodwood's Listed Conqueror S. also at that trip on May 6.

Moyglare Stud's homebred Making Light (Ire) (Tamayuz {GB}) captured the G3 Killavullan S. over seven furlongs at Leopardstown in October and comes here on the back of a neck second to Rain Goddess's stablemate and G1 Epsom Oaks third Alluringly (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) in the Listed Hurry Harriet S. over an extended nine furlongs at Gowran Park on Aug. 16.
