PHIPPS TO GIVE ICHA KEYNOTE SPEECH

The Jockey Club Chairman Ogden Mills (Dinny) Phipps will deliver the keynote address at the International Conference of Horseracing Authorities Oct. 6 in Paris, France.
The ICHA will be chaired by Louis Romanet, chairman of the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, and will focus on two main areas: racing surfaces and safety and building a successful social media strategy. The first topic will feature presentations from trainer Graham Motion and Dr. Mick Peterson, executive director of the Racing Surfaces Testing Laboratory. The second topic will feature presentations from David Sternberg, the head of media for Manchester United, and Wolfgang Breyer, head of international advertising, online communication and entertainment marketing for BMW Group.
The conference will also feature a report from Dr. Yves Bonnaire on behalf of the IFHA Advisory Council on Equine Prohibited Substances detailing global lab certification and other matters forthcoming from the International Conference of Racing Analysts and Veterinarians. The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Andrew Harding will give an update on issues related to the international movement of horses. Jockey Club president and chief operating officer Jim Gagliano will give an update on the upcoming 2015 Pan American Conference, and racing in Scandinavia and Korea will also be profiled.
