A filly by Pioneerof the Nile turned in the fastest breeze during Monday's under-tack preview of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's Winter Mixed Sale. Consigned by McKathan Brothers, the unraced dark bay filly (hip 556) worked three furlongs in :32 4/5. The Louisiana-bred 3-year-old is out of Bojangle's Cat (Tabasco Cat) and from the family of stakes winner Colonel Rutledge.
The January Mixed Sale begins Wednesday with a preferred session and continues Thursday with an open session. The Horses of Racing Age section, comprising hips 525-639, will be offered immediately following the open session. The 115 horses in the racing age section include 28 older horses, 54 3-year-olds and 33 2-year-olds, cataloged as hips 525-594 in the regular catalogue and hips 595-639 in the supplemental catalogue. Both sessions begin at 10:30 a.m.
