Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum's Postponed (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), winner of Saturday's G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth S., exited that career high in good order, according to trainer Luca Cumani, and will get a short break before preparing for the Oct. 4 G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
“He came out of the race fantastic,” Cumani said. “We said after he won the [G2 Great Voltigeur S. last year] that the focus was on the King George. It doesn't often work out, so it's very satisfying when it does.”
Cumani confirmed the 4-year-old's next target will likely be the G2 Prix Foy at Longchamp Sept. 13.
“He'll have a mini-break now and then have a prep race, probably the Prix Foy at Longchamp, and then go for the Arc,” he said.
