One week after her son Presenting Percy (GB) (Sir Percy {GB}) landed the G1 RSA Novices' Chase at Cheltenham in scintillating fashion, the Presenting (GB) mare Hunca Munca (Ire) delivered a full-brother to the exciting young steeplechaser.
The colt's arrival on Wednesday completed an exciting week for owner and breeder Johnny Weatherby. Not only did the Philip Reynolds-owned Presenting Percy become the first top-level winner for his Preston Lodge Stud, but Top Wood (Fr) (Kotky Blue {Fr}), who races in Weatherby's own colours and is trained by stud manager Kelly Morgan, posted an impressive performance in the St James's Place Foxhunter at the Festival to finish runner-up at odds of 50/1.
“We're all so excited. Hunca Munca has produced a lovely Sir Percy colt who is very correct and a really good size,” said Morgan, who combines her managerial duties at the stud with training point-to-pointers.
“He's got a lot of Presenting Percy about him. In many ways he's a mirror image—a plain bay with very similar features. Hunca Munca is very well and will be visiting Jack Hobbs (GB) in the near future.”
