Local equestrians will be showing off their Thoroughbred ex-racehorses Tuesday at Masterson Station Park Equestrian Complex in Lexington before competing in the Retired Racehorse Project's $100,000 Thoroughbred Makeover, the RRP announced Monday. The Thoroughbred Makeover, presented by the Thoroughbred Charities of America, is an international competition that highlights and champions the many different performance-based competition opportunities for Thoroughbreds after their racing careers conclude.
The preview, which goes from 1-2:30 p.m., will showcase horses readying to compete in the Oct. 5-8 event at the Kentucky Horse Park. Demonstrations from each of the 10 divisions trainers can choose from will be conducted.
