Last year's G1 Melbourne Cup hero Prince Of Penzance (NZ) (Pentire {GB}) is out of the remainder of the spring carnival and will undergo surgery on a fracture in his off-fore leg, according to Racing.com. The 7-year-old gelding had pleased connections with a fourth-place finish in Saturday's G2 Herbert Power S. at Caulfield, but emerged from the race lame, after which the injury was discovered.
