California Chrome at Meydan | DRC/Andrew Watkins

Probable fields have been released for Meydan's Dubai World Cup card, the world's richest day of racing, Mar. 26. Headlining the nine-race card is the $10 million G1 Dubai World Cup, the world's richest race. California Chrome (Lucky Pulpit) will look to build on his second-place finish last year, and he will be challenged by the likes of American 4-year-olds Keen Ice (Curlin) and Frosted (Tapit), as well as Mshawish (Medaglia d'Oro) and Hoppertunity (Any Given Saturday). Last year's G2 UAE Derby winner Mubtaahij (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) represents trainer Mike de Kock, while G1 Al Maktoum Challenge R3 upsetter Special Fighter (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) and Candy Boy (Candy Ride {Arg}) will be sent out by local trainers. Hong Kong will be represented by Gun Pit (Aus) (Dubawi {Ire}), and Japan sends Hokko Tarumae (Jpn) (King Kamehameha {Jpn}). French champion trainer Andre Fabre is expected to send Vadamos (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}), and the projected field is rounded out by Saudi Arabia's Teletext (Empire Maker).
