Magic Millions hosted their one day May Yearling and Bloodstock Sale at Morphettville on Sunday and it was the well bred mare Profound Wisdom (Aus) (Al Samer {Aus}) who topped proceedings when selling for A$78,000. Offered as lot 31 the dual track winner is a half-sister to Japanese stakes winner Melagrana (Aus) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) and she attracted strong interest from bidders from around the country before selling to Lacoste Bloodstock for $78,000. Lacoste Bloodstock also signed for lot 56, Zerprise Journey (Aus) (Good Journey), an eight time winner of over A$200,000 who was sold for A$35,000. A breeding career also awaits this half-sister to three winners. In total, 38 of the 50 offered horses changed hands for an aggregate of A$198,850 and an average of A$5,233. “Today showed that if we get quality bloodstock the market will respond,” Magic Millions Adelaide Consultant Adrian Hancock said. “We were incredibly busy with phone bidding as well as those in attendance and after today's inaugural sale we'd like to establish this May sale into the future,” he added.
