Twin Creeks Racing Stables's Pure Silver (Mission Impazible) looks to take her perfect record to four-for-four in Saturday's GI Spinaway S. at Saratoga, a “Win and You're in” event for the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Wiring a state-bred maiden special weight at Belmont June 22, the Todd Pletcher trainee defeated fellow native New Yorkers once again in the Lynbrook S. downstate July 16 and crushed her rivals last time in this venue's Aug. 12 GII Adirondack S., winning by 9 1/2 lengths. Pletcher has won the Spinaway six times already, including dead-heating in last year's renewal with Sweet Loretta (Tapit) and capturing the 2015 edition with Rachel's Valentina (Bernardini).

“She's training really well and seems very happy with herself, so we're looking forward to going again with her,” Pletcher told the NYRA notes team. “She's a filly who has good early speed and the way she finished the other [race], we feel like seven should be within her range. She should come back with another good performance.”

Owner Michael Dubb also boasts a strong record in the Spinaway, having won in 2011 with My Happy Face (Empire Maker) and 2014 with Condo Commando (Tiz Wonderful). He has a strong chance to add to that record this year with another daughter of Tiz Wonderful, “TDN Rising Star” Lady Ivanka, whom he owns in partnership with Bethlehem Stables, Michael Imperio and Susan Montanye. The Rudy Rodriguez pupil enters this test off an eight-length debut graduation at the Spa Aug. 9, a move Rodriguez and Dubb also employed with Condo Commando, who entered the Spinaway off a 12-length graduation in her career bow at Saratoga. “She's been training good; I know we're bringing her a little quicker than we wanted, but it's a good race to get into,” Rodriguez said. “The competition will be better, but that's what makes it a good spot to run.”

Klaravich Stables's Separationofpowers (Candy Ride {Arg}) also takes a big step up in class off a “TDN Rising Star”-worthy graduation at first asking. The Chad Brown runner dominated by 11 3/4 lengths in wire-to-wire fashion going six furlongs here July 30. My Meadowview Farm homebred Maya Malibu (Malibu Moon) is yet another impressive debut winner jumping into the deep end here. The Graham Motion pupil circled the field and charged home a six-length winner in her Delaware unveiling Aug. 5.
