Trainer Richard Fahey said he is looking forward to taking on unbeaten G1 Prix Morny winner Lady Aurelia (Scat Daddy) with his G2 Lowther S. winner Queen Kindly (GB) (Frankel {GB}) in the Sept. 24 G1 Cheveley Park S. after declaring her at the latest scratching stage on Wednesday. A first-out maiden winner at Catterick in June, Queen Kindly was beaten just a half-length when third behind Brave Anna (War Front) in the G3 Albany S. at Royal Ascot two weeks later. She has since won her last two, including the Lowther over G2 Duchess of Cambridge S. winner Roly Poly (War Front) and G3 Princess Margaret S. winner Fair Eva (GB) (Frankel {GB}).
“Queen Kindly is in good order,” said Fahey. “She is progressing physically and mentally the whole time. She would be as quick as any 2-year-old I have ever had and has been a natural from day one. I haven't really had to train her–she's done it herself.”
He added, “We gave her a little bit of a break after the Lowther but we are stepping up her work again now and everything is going according to plan. She's from a wonderful fillies' family and is bred to run in the Cheveley Park S. There is no reason at all to think that the six furlongs of the Rowley Mile will not suit her.”
Queen Kindly and Lady Aurelia were among the 21 to stand their ground for the Cheveley Park.
“Lady Aurelia was really impressive at Royal Ascot–she put up the 2-year-old performance of the week–and though she was not so impressive in France it was still a solid performance,” Fahey noted. “It will be great to take her on and it's something that I'm really looking forward to.”
The aforementioned Fair Eva is headed to the previous day's G2 Shadwell Rockfel S. over seven furlongs of the Rowley Mile after pleasing trainer Roger Charlton in a Wednesday work. Charlton noted no excuse has been uncovered for Fair Eva's Lowther defeat.
“Nothing came to light after her defeat at York and, although she might have been a little bit quiet for a few days afterwards, she has been fresh and well over the last week,” the conditioner said. “I still believe that she is one of the best that I have trained and a step up to seven furlongs is definitely what she needs. The Rockfel will be good practice for her as I hope that she will be running at Newmarket again in the future.”
