Last year's French highweighted stayer Quest For More (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}–No Quest {Ire}, by Rainbow Quest) has been retired, reported Racing Post Wednesday. Racing in the colours of HRH Sultan Ahmad Shah, the 7-year-old gelding triumphed in the 2016 G1 Qatar Prix du Cadran over MG1SW Vazirabad (Fr) (Mandero {Ger}), as well as in the G2 Lonsdale Cup at York that term. The Roger Charlton trainee finished runner-up in an additional three Group 2 events, including the G2 Doncaster Cup and G2 QIPCO British Champions Long Distance Cup, both in 2016 and the G2 Goodwood Cup the year prior. Quest For More retires with a mark of 30-8-7-4 and earnings of $905,474.

“We've been disappointed with the way he ran in his last couple of races and decided he doesn't deserve to go on any more,” Charlton told Racing Post.

Quest For More was unplaced in his two 2017 efforts, finishing 12th last out in Royal Ascot's G1 Gold Cup on June 22.
