Few fillies can boast the kind of season that Rags to Riches (A.P. Indy) enjoyed in 2007. A winner of five of six starts in 2007–all at the Grade I level–the statuesque filly collected her biggest and most important career victory in the GI Belmont S., defeating champion three-year-old colt Curlin in the process. In winning the Belmont, the chestnut became only the third filly in 139 runnings of the race–and the first in 102 years–to win the 1 1/2-mile event. Her accomplishments on the race track also helped her trainer, Todd Pletcher, collect a fourth consecutive Eclipse Award in 2007.
