Redoute's Colt Lands On Second Line

Second-highest price during Thursday’s Session One finale was achieved by a Willow Park Stud-consigned son of Redoute’s Choice (Aus). The Sept. 13 foal is the first out of Zarzuela (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}), a three-time group winner and Group 1-placed in New Zealand. Shadwell’s Angus Gold promised Wednesday that his team were not finish, and so it proved, as he signed the winning ticket on a final bid of A$720,000 (US$756,568). Zarzuela, a daughter of New Zealand highweight Star Satire (NZ) (Volksraad {GB}), is a half-sister to G2 Silver Slipper S. winner Satin Shoes (Aus) (Flying Spur {Aus}). Shadwell concluded Session One on a total of 21 purchases for A$8.27 million, an average of A$393,810.
